The Taurus Full Moon arrives October 25–26, depending on where in the world you are, putting the spotlight on love, worth, values, relationships, comfort and security.
The ruler of this lunation, Venus, now retrograde at the final degree of Libra, takes a prominent position across the sky from Chiron in Aries–facing off in an almost exact opposition, bringing matters of love, self-worth, independence, and your connections with others into sharp focus.
This lunation illuminates the places where your desire for love, connection, and security conflicts with your sense of self-worth, independence, and personal freedom. Old wounds, relationship rifts, feelings of rejection, abandonment, being undervalued or not enough may surface now.
But Chiron’s influence goes beyond your wounds, weaknesses and the potential for healing them. Chiron is multidimensional—a bridge between worlds and timelines, where past and present can seem to intersect and overlap.
With Venus retrograde at the final degree of Libra, someone or something may appear to mirror something back to you. It could be something from another time. An old feeling, an unexpected encounter, a face that feels familiar—even if you never met them, a glimpse into something that brings a moment of recognition and knowing—even if you don’t know how you know.
The Universe isn’t just repeating itself for no reason, it’s granting the opportunity to experience things through new eyes now.
⚷ Chiron’s Cosmic Echo
This Full Moon also brings a culmination of the energies and developments set into motion at the Taurus New Moon back in May, bringing into full view whatever you started then.
And there’s another interesting cosmic echo connecting these two lunations.
Chiron now occupies the same degree as it did at the Taurus New Moon, following his brief journey into Taurus and retrograding back into Aries–and six month later, here he is again.
When the Universe repeats a message, it’s time to listen up.
At that New Moon, Mars and Chiron were at this same degree, activating themes around personal identity, independence, courage, and self-discovery that are being reflected through our relationships and connections with others.
The Sabian symbol associated with Chiron’s position is: A Celestial Choir Singing, depicting many individual voices coming together in resonance and harmony.
As you evolve and grow, your own frequency changes and these shifts in resonance may become especially noticeable in our relationships and connections. Sometimes the people, relationships, circumstances, and environments that once felt familiar and comfortable start feeling out of tune with who you’ve become and so some of those situations may begin to fall away.
And that’s okay.
At the same time, you might be drawn toward new people, opportunities, and experiences that resonate with you in ways you haven’t experienced before.
And it may not be that the relationships have changed — it’s because you have.
♀ The Venus Rose: Changing the Pattern
There’s an even longer cycle woven into this Full Moon.
Venus is moving through her retrograde journey in Scorpio and Libra, part of the approximately eight-year Venus Rose cycle—aka the Venus Star, named for the five-pointed star pattern she traces through the heavens. Super cool right?
The last comparable retrograde journeys through Scorpio and Libra occurred in October 2010 and 2018. Consider the longer story of how your relationships, desires, values, shared resources, close bonds and understanding of love have evolved, and what parallels pop into your awareness this time around.
But there’s an even bigger story unfolding here.
This Venus retrograde also marks the completion of a nearly century-long chapter associated with Scorpio themes of intimacy, sexuality, trust, power, control, shared resources, and transformation, while a new chapter emphasizing Libra’s themes of relationships, equality, balance, and cooperation is beginning.
And how fitting, considering everything we’ve been exploring about changing relationship patterns and creating new templates. I’d say the timing is pretty remarkable.
The relationship templates highlighted at the recent Libra New Moon aren’t just about changing the terms of existing relationships. They’re about changing the underlying patterns that determine who and what you attract, how you connect, what you’re willing to give, and what you’re open to receive.
The Sabian symbol for Venus at the final degree of Libra, Three Mounds of Knowledge on a Philosopher’s Head, suggesting that the wisdom gained through experience and how what you’ve learned can influence the choices you make moving forward.
Just because a familiar pattern returns doesn’t mean you’re destined to repeat it.
It’s like encountering a familiar frequency at a different point in your growth spiral, offering an opportunity to respond from an elevated level of awareness.
♇ Pluto in Aquarius: The Power of Change
Pluto in Aquarius squares this lunation adding another layer of intensity and tension around security, stability, power and transformation creating a push-pull between holding on to what’s familiar and realizing when something needs to change–it can’t continue as it has.
This creates a fixed T-square, and nobody wants to budge. Taurus holds on, Scorpio digs in, and Aquarius is hellbent on doing things its own way.
There’s immense pressure and resistance around changing deeply entrenched patterns, attachments, and power structures but Pluto’s inevitability makes things impossible to ignore.
Something’s gotta give. And Pluto doesn’t negotiate.
Collectively, Pluto in Aquarius continues to transform technology, financial systems, institutions, and the distribution of power and resources. Questioning who holds the power, who benefits, and who controls the systems society depends upon is becoming more and more relevant.
This influence brings these questions into sharper focus daring you to explore what needs to be transformed into something more viable.
🔱 The Yod: A Turning Point
As if there isn’t enough pressure and intensity with this lunation, there’s also a Yod—aka the Finger of God—with Uranus in Gemini and Neptune in Aries in the mix. This configuration often brings difficult decisions, choice points, dilemmas, and circumstances requiring adjustments.
There could be new ideas and perspectives, surprising information, and innovative possibilities, fueled by intuition, vision, inspiration, and a deeper sense of personal direction. Something may challenge what you thought you knew, what you believed was possible, or how you envisioned things would play out.
The Scorpio Sun, at the apex of this Yod, encourages you to look under the surface—beyond appearances—and uncover the deeper truths. Mercury is also retrograde in Scorpio, bringing old information, complex conversations or experiences to the surface, perhaps revealing something that you overlooked before or enabling you to connect the dots in ways you hadn’t considered before.
As new information is presented, your awakening awareness doesn’t just change your perspective, it changes the questions you’re asking.
All the while, this lunation is pushing your security buttons, challenging your attachments and resistance to change.
You may find yourself at a crossroads where clinging to familiar approaches isn’t providing the solutions you seek, while the path ahead isn’t entirely clear either. Dilemma, dilemma.
But the dilemma isn’t necessarily choosing one path over another—a shift in perspective could reveal possibilities you never in a million years even considered.
Some of these realizations also have practical implications for your security, stability, values, and the life you’re building. The adjustments may be more about shifting your mindset, beliefs and the direction or approach you’re willing to take instead of forcing circumstances.
The turning point may actually be a change in perspective that makes a totally different future possible.
☿ Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio | October 25 – November 13
Mercury retrogrades through Scorpio, taking our thoughts and conversations into deeper, or even darker, more complicated territory. This is investigative energy—probing what’s under the surface, revisiting unresolved matters, uncovering secrets, and exploring complex questions about life, death, intimacy, trust, and transformation.
Conversations may become more intense, and information you once overlooked could come back around, offering opportunities to reconsider and reassess what you thought you knew.
And of course, the usual Mercury retrograde rules and precautions still apply! Double-check emails, messages, appointments, directions, and important details. Back up your devices, and when possible, hold off on purchasing electronics, cars, appliances, or anything with moving parts until Mercury is direct again. If something can’t wait—because life happens—do your homework and read the fine print.
🌱 Building Something Better
The Sabian symbols for the luminaries emphasize the relationship themes woven throughout this lunation—and the bigger story unfolding this year.
The Taurus Full Moon’s symbol, Steps Up to a Lawn Blooming with Clover, suggests elevation, new opportunities, and moving toward greener pastures with the potential for greater abundance and fulfillment.
The Scorpio Sun’s symbol, A House Raising, speaks to shared purpose and people coming together to build something meaningful.
It may be time to reconsider what you value, along with who and what you’re willing to invest your time, energy, and resources into as old patterns, attachments, and relationship templates shift. It’s not enough to change what no longer works—we also have to create something more aligned with who we’re becoming.
This lunation can bring new perspectives, new possibilities, new foundations, and perhaps, a whole new way of relating to each other.
