Scorpio New Moon – Reclaiming What Was, Creating What Will Be

by Christina Celona

There’s something stirring beneath the surface during this phase.

The Scorpio New Moon arrives November 9, bringing us deeper into the realms of death, rebirth, and regeneration.

Scorpio doesn’t flinch at the darkness, understanding that endings and beginnings are intricately connected. Knowing that ‘every new beginning starts from some other beginnings’ end’ and transformation very often calls for something to die so that something else can be born from the ashes.

After several weeks of revisiting the past, examining relationships, values, and confronting patterns that have outlived their purpose or function, a significant turning point seems to be approaching as both Mercury and Venus retrograde are preparing to station direct on November 13.

Matters involving relationships, trust, shared resources, personal values, and the agreements that bind you have been under review or perhaps even stalled since early October, may start moving forward.

You may have been able to revive some things—relationships, projects, situations—while others met their expiration date, and still others may have been so totally transformed that they bear almost no resemblance to what existed before.

🔥 Mars–Jupiter in Leo: Go Big or Go Home!

Meanwhile, Mars and Jupiter are moving toward a meetup in fiery Leo, bringing a surge of courage, confidence, creative passion, ambition, and the desire to follow our hearts. This is go big or go home energy!

This pairing in Leo turns up the heat, encouraging bold moves, creative risks, romantic gestures, and perhaps even a little spectacle, show and drama.

You now have a growing desire to be seen, heard, recognized, and appreciated for who you are and what you bring to the table. Have no fear of pursuing what makes you feel alive, take up all the space you need and unapologetically express yourself with one hundred percent authenticity.

As this pair activates the New Moon, your faith in yourself may have you testing your limits, pushing your luck or learning how far you’re willing to go to get what you want—stop short of biting off more than you can chew.

Mars–Jupiter together can encourage overconfidence, inflated egos and expectations, impulsive decisions and needless drama.

But it can also help you discover just how much you’re actually capable of by being willing to go beyond what’s familiar, taking a chance on yourself, and pushing through the fire to the other side.

And they’re also aligning with the South Node in Leo November 14–16 suggesting that something from the past may come back around—perhaps it’s what you thought was a missed opportunity, or an abandoned ambition, an old flame, or a dream that never quite got off the ground.

And maybe this time, you’ve got what it takes to go even further than you did before.

🦂 The Sabian Symbol: “A Woman, Fecundated by Her Own Spirit, Is Great with Child”

This extraordinary image depicts a woman embodying both the feminine and masculine principles, containing within herself everything needed to conceive and bring something into being.

There’s something even more profound here than just self-sufficiency or independence.  This image suggests an original state of wholeness—the source of creation and the power to bring it into existence are contained within the same being.

And let’s talk about the circumstances of this conception—they’re anything but ordinary. It defies conventional expectations, implying that something considered impossible or beyond reach could come into existence in an entirely different or unexpected manner.

Scorpio’s realm is death, rebirth, and regeneration, making this especially interesting.  It could be that something that’s been fragmented is made whole again, something’s restored or revitalized or something that’s lost its original purpose or potential can be renewed, reclaimed, or repurposed and given a completely new expression.

Almost like a factory reset, stripping away the accumulated layers of conditioning, distortion, and experience to recover something essential that’s been there all along.

Or perhaps it’s more like the Japanese art of Kintsugi, where broken pottery is repaired with gold, creating something whole again—not by erasing the damage, but incorporating its scars into something beautiful and uniquely its own.

💕 Venus–Mars: Cosmic Lover Reconnection

Meanwhile, Venus retrograde in Libra favorably connects to Mars in Leo, bringing the cosmic lovers back into conversation.

Venus has been taking another look at matters of love, relationships, reciprocity, values, attraction, and reciprocity, while Mars in Leo is in pursuit of what sets the heart on fire, gets your creative juices flowing or makes you feel alive.

This second close encounter can rekindle creative passions, revive romantic interests or unfinished relationship matters may re-enter the chat.

Some of your old desires, attractions or connections could come back around but not necessarily under the same circumstances or on the same terms.

And there’s more than just romance and relationships—this is a highly creative combo.

Venus is right at home in Libra, and has a deep appreciation for beauty, art, aesthetics, harmony, and refinement, while Mars in Leo brings passion, playfulness, and the creative spark.

Together, they encourage artistic expression, creative pursuits, entertainment, pleasure, and doing things simply because they make you feel good and you may even look good while doing it.

Whether it’s music, dancing, decorating, making something beautiful, or rediscovering an old hobby, there’s something to be said for creating purely for the joy of it, without needing a particular purpose, profit, outcome, or justification. It’s just because you want to.

This combination also has financial potential as Venus governs money and resources, while Mars brings the initiative and motivation to put your talents to work. Some of your creative ventures, artistic endeavors, beauty, design, entertainment, or even an old passion project could present opportunities to generate income.

And with Venus retrograde, there’s something worth revisiting, refining, or reintroducing that has both creative and financial value.

♇ Pluto–Juno: Changing the Terms of Commitment

Pluto and Juno meet for the third and final time this year in Aquarius, continuing a months-long process of transformation involving relationships, partnerships, commitments, and the agreements that bind you.

Underlying power dynamics, control issues and patterns that may have been operating beneath the surface in your relationships, partnerships, commitments, contracts and agreements are exposed and seen for what they are.

Some of these bonds are undergoing a profound restructuring, while some have reached a point where the old arrangements no longer work.

Juno transits can bring significant relationship developments, including the inception of a partnership, marriage or formal commitment, a separation, and even seeking relationship counseling.

Pluto’s involvement here carries considerable weight, marking a turning point—some bonds deepen, others undergo repair process, some a renegotiation, while others reach their conclusion, expiration or termination.

This isn’t limited to romantic partnerships—business and professional alliances, and other long-standing commitments and obligations are also subject to renegotiation or significant change.

And Uranus in Gemini aligns with Pluto and Juno, bringing an element of surprise, innovation, and unexpected developments. There could be new information, changing perspectives, a plot twist, unconventional solutions, or sudden breakthroughs in situations that have been resistant to change. There are new possibilities that you hadn’t considered before.

🗣️ Mercury Direct: Communication Comes From the Depths

Mercury stations direct November 13, with the Sabian symbol: “Deep Sea Divers.” After weeks of digging below the surface, investigating, questioning, and reconsidering—something you discovered in those depths is now ready to see the light of day.

Mercury and Pluto/Juno square off, suggesting that there could be difficult conversations, uncomfortable truths, and long-overdue discussions challenging some of your existing agreements, loyalties, and power dynamics.

And with Mercury also sextile Black Moon Lilith, there may be deeply buried anger, resentment, or grievances surrounding mistreatment, betrayal, or abuses of power that you’re no longer willing to ignore.

Some things need to be brought to the surface before anything can move forward.

♀️ Venus Direct: A Change of Heart?

Venus also stations direct in Libra on November 13, the same day as Mercury, bringing a turning point in matters of love, relationships, values, and finances.

After several weeks of revisiting the past, reconsidering what matters to you, and what you actually want while examining the give-and-take in your all of your connections, there could be a change of heart, a change of circumstances, or a change in the terms of existing arrangements.

Some relationships may be ready for a renewed commitment, while others may have revealed one-sidedness that can no longer be overlooked.

What you’re willing to give, receive, accept, or invest in may look considerably different now than it did just a short time ago when this retrograde began.

The Sabian symbol for Venus is “A Gold Rush Tears Men Away from Their Native Soil,” with Rudhyar’s keynote of “longing for more.” This suggests a growing desire to pursue something of greater value, even if it means leaving what’s familiar behind.

And with Mars–Jupiter activating the symbol: “As Light Breaks Through the Clouds, a Perfect Rainbow Forms,” just a few days later, perhaps there’s gold at the end of that rainbow after all. 🌈
